LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Academy Center of the Arts has released a statement regarding “A Knight with Kendall,” a “pay-what-you-can” drag show fundraising event happening in Lynchburg Thursday night.

We at the Academy are committed to our core values of community, creativity, and equity. We are proud to be an inclusive organization that provides a safe space to use the arts to empower others. Our venues are always welcome to any and everyone as a place to engage in the arts through self-expression, thought, and entertainment. We are incredibly grateful to our community for allowing us to be an organization that can make its venues accessible to all of our neighbors, including traditionally underserved and marginalized individuals as we continue in our mission of serving our community through arts and culture

Michelline Hall, Academy Center of the Arts’ chief programming officer
