Lynchburg releases schedule for Christmas tree collection

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — While some people may want to keep their holiday decorations up for a little while longer, Lynchburg crews are already gearing up to collect Christmas trees in the coming weeks.

The City of Lynchburg says residents are allowed to leave their undecorated Christmas trees on the curb for collection on their scheduled brush and bulk collection week:

MondayJan. 4-8, 2021
TuesdayJan. 11-15, 2021
WednesdayJan. 18-22, 2021
ThursdayJan. 25-29, 2021

However, Lynchburg officials say trees should be out by 7 a.m. at the latest on the Monday of the scheduled collection week.

On the other hand, you can also drop off undecorated trees at one of the following locations at any time through Jan. 31, 2021:

  • City drop-off recycling centers (except Village Court Shopping Center)
  • Miller Park on the left side of the parking lot entering from Park Avenue)
  • Riverside Park at the back of tennis court parking lot
  • Peaks View Park from Wiggington Road at the grassy area between the parking lot and rest rooms
