LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Crews in Lynchburg continue working to remove snow and ice from city streets.
Public Works crews were not able to complete Tuesday’s trash pickup due to some of the road conditions from Sunday’s winter storm.
Crews were not able to collect trash on the following streets on Tuesday:
|Buena Vista||North||Fort Manor||Sabine||Yale|
Crews will reattempt to collect trash on these streets into Wednesday as long as road conditions allow.
All residents should take their trash to the curb on their scheduled trash day and leave it there until crews are able to collect it.
City officials also remind residents that City Code 35.6 requires residents and businesses to remove snow from sidewalks in front of their property.
As afternoon temperatures climbed above freezing, some melting has taken place; however, temperatures will again dip below freezing tonight allowing all wet surfaces to re-freeze. Residents should continue to use caution when traveling overnight and into Wednesday morning.
