LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — After 23 years with Lynchburg City Schools (LCS), Principal Rose Flaugher of E. C. Glass High School announced her retirement at the end of the 2022-23 school year.
“I want to express my gratitude to the students, teachers, staff, and E. C. Glass community. You are my family… over the coming months until Graduation in the spring, I will enjoy every last moment I have here at Glass,” said Flaugher.
Flaugher began her career in public education 33 years ago and started at E. C. Glass High School in 1999. Since she took on several administrative roles including an athletic director, assistant principal, and associate principal before becoming principal in 2020.
Lynchburg Superintendant Dr. Crystal Edwards said, “Rose is a Hilltopper through and through, and she is such a big part of the LCS family. She has done an outstanding job as principal and long-time administrator, and she will certainly be missed.”
According to LCS, the search process for the next principal of E. C. Glass High School will begin in January. LCS is expecting to announce a new principal by the spring of 2023.
