Lynchburg Police search for two additional individuals with reported ties to Aug. 17 shooting

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Police in Lynchburg are searching for two additional people who may have been involved in a shooting that took place last week.

Shortly after 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 17, the Lynchburg Police Department says officers responded to a report of multiple shots being fired in the area of 500 block of Chambers Street.

While at the scene, police say they recovered a stolen firearm, arrested a 17-year-old boy, and charged him with the following:

  • Possession of a stolen firearm
  • Underage possession of a firearm
  • Concealing a firearm
  • Reckless handling of a firearm

Police say they are looking for two men who were in possession of firearms and left the scene.
