Lynchburg Police say a man was shot early Saturday morning at the Fort Avenue 7-11

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Police in Lynchburg are investigating a shooting that took place early Saturday morning in the parking lot of the 7-11 on Fort Avenue.

According to the Lynchburg Police Department, officers were dispatched to 2337 Fort Avenue at approximately 2 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18 for a report of shots fired and a malicious wounding.

When police arrived at the scene, they found one man with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to Lynchburg General Hospital for treatment.

Officers also found a home that had been shot during the incident, the department says.

Police say malicious wounding is still under an ongoing investigation.
