Lynchburg Police: Man injured after overnight shooting along Augusta Street

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Police have launched a malicious wounding investigation after a man was found shot in Lynchburg early Monday morning.

The Lynchburg Police Department says officers responded to the 1500 block of Augusta Street shortly after 2 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 4 for a report of unknown trouble.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a man with a non-life-threatening gunshot injury. That man was then brought to Lynchburg General Hospital to receive treatment, according to officials.

Anyone who may have video of this shooting on a security or doorbell camera is asked to call the Lynchburg Police Department at 434-455-6065, share the footage on the Neighbors portal, or share it anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
