Lynchburg police investigate reports of items being taken from vehicles

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Police in Lynchburg are investigating a string of vehicle larcenies that have taken place recently.

On Monday, July 19, Lynchburg Police received three reports of items being taken from vehicles on Old Forest and Carrington Roads.

Items were reportedly stolen from two separate vehicles in the 3400-block of Old Forest Road, as well as a catalytic converter that was stolen from a vehicle in the 2100-block of Carrington Road.

The department is reminding residents and visitors to never leave anything of value — including purses, wallets, firearms, phones, etc. — in vehicles, even if the vehicle is locked.

The investigation into these crimes is ongoing.
