Lynchburg Police announce arrest of five teens in connection to Friday armed robbery

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Police in Lynchburg have arrested one adult and four juveniles after an armed robbery that took place Friday evening on Langhorne Road.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 11, officers responded to a report of an assault in the 2000 block of Langhorne Road.

When officers arrived, they found that a juvenile male had been robbed at gunpoint by a group of five individuals. During the robbery, the victim said he was punched and kicked.

A few hours later, at approximately 11:12 p.m., officers responded to the 6200 block of Old Mill Road for a report of a large group of disorderly people who were potentially involved in the armed robbery earlier Friday night.

Officers arrived and were able to deescalate the situation. Shortly afterward, one adult and four juveniles were taken into custody.

Police say they recovered three firearms, as well as cocaine and property from the victim.

Reginald Patterson III, 18, of Lynchburg faces the following charges:

  • Assault by mob
  • Robbery
  • Grand larceny
  • Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony

A 17-year-old boy is charged with:

  • Assault by mob
  • Robbery
  • Grand larceny
  • Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
  • Possession of a firearm under the age of 18

A 16-year-old boy faces charges for:

  • Assault by mob
  • Robbery
  • Grandy larceny
  • Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
  • Possession of a firearm under the age of 18.

A 15-year-old boy is being charged with:

  • Assault by mob
  • Robbery
  • Grand larceny
  • Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
  • Two counts of possession of a firearm under the age of 18
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • False identity to law enforcement (suspect was also wanted out of Henrico County for a probation violation)

A 14-year-old boy faces charges including:

  • Assault by mob
  • Robbery
  • Grand larceny
  • Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
  • Two counts of possession of a firearm under the age of 18
