Lynchburg pedestrian dead following late night crash, police say

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Lynchburg law enforcement officers are investigating a late night crash that led to the death of a pedestrian on Tuesday.

The Lynchburg Police Department says officers were dispatched to the 1500-block of Graves Mill Road shortly after 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 15, for a report of a individual who was injured in a parking lot.

When police arrived at the scene, they say they found a single pedestrian — who was pronounced dead at the scene — who had been hit by a vehicle.

According to the department, the pedestrian was identified as 61-year-old Rhonda Hayes of Lynchburg.
