Lynchburg PD investigates report of men stealing propane tanks from Park Avenue T Mart

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Police in Lynchburg are investigating a report of two men who claimed to be with a propane tank company who ended up stealing multiple propane tanks from the T Mart on Park Avenue earlier this month.

The Lynchburg Police Department says officers responded to the T Mart shortly after 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 12 for a report of a larceny.

When police arrived, the owner of the T Mart told officers that earlier in the day that two men came to the store and informed the clerk that they were with a propane tank company and needed to change out the propane tanks outside.

The two men then reportedly loaded multiple tanks of propane into their gray/silver mid-90s or early-2000’s Dodge crew cab pickup truck with a dent/damage to the passenger door that was also pulling a black single-axle trailer.

One of the individuals is described as being a white man in his 50s, standing around 6’2″ and weighing about 180 pounds. The other is described as a Black man in his 20s who is around six feet tall and weighs around 160 pounds.
