LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Lynchburg Parks and Recreation has partnered with Miriam’s House for the Blessing Bags for the Homeless program during December and January.
According to Lynchburg Parks and Recreation, they received more than 225 prepackaged bags. These bags will be delivered to Miriam’s House at 409 Magnolia Street in Lynchburg on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 11 a.m.
Each bag contains items such as gloves, socks, snacks, water bottle, hygiene items, tissues, and Band-Aids. Additional items such as rain poncho, hand warmers, first aid kit, fast-food gift card, hand/baby wipes, ChapStick, dental floss, nail clippers, comb or small brush, female hygiene products, personalized note/card, reusable cloth mask, hand sanitizer, and compact blankets were added to the bags as room provided.
Miriam’s House is an organization that works to combat homelessness “through programs aimed at ending homelessness and rebuilding lives.”
