Lynchburg Museum searches for artist to design new mural on John Lynch Memorial Bridge pier

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – The Lynchburg Museum Foundation is in search of an artist interested in designing and installing a new mural on one or more of John Lynch Memorial Bridge piers near Cabell Street and the Blackwater Creek Trail.

Mary Brice is the subject of the mural. Brice was an enslaved woman who worked at Point of Harbor in the 1850s.

The mural will be meant to honor the enslaved community that labored and lived at Point of Honor from 1775 to 1865.
