One man killed, one in critical condition after Lynchburg motorcycle crash

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – One man was killed and another was seriously injured after a motorcycle crash in Lynchburg Thursday afternoon.

According to the Lynchburg Police Department, officers responded to reports of a motorcycle crash involving two people on 8th Street between Jackson and Federal Streets shortly after 4:45 p.m. on Thursday, June 3.

When police arrived at the scene, they found two men in the road and immediately started performing lifesaving measures.

However, one man was pronounced dead at the scene and the second was transported to Lynchburg General Hospital, where he is currently in critical condition, the department says.

Officials identified the man who died as 35-year-old Dekota Demon Matthews of Lynchburg.

This is reportedly an ongoing investigation.
