AMHERST COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Amherst County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Lynchburg man in connection with selling drugs out of a motel on Wednesday.

The sheriff’s office was involved in a criminal interdiction effort when they received a call about a person who was involved in selling drugs out of the Executive Inn at 4673 S. Amherst Highway in Madison Heights on Wednesday, June 29. When they arrived, deputies say the man ran away and was eventually located.

According to authorities, they found 14 grams of crack cocaine, three grams of methamphetamine, and four grams of a white powdery substance, along with more than $3,634 in cash. Deputies took 34-year-old TR’Rail Laman Perkins of Lynchburg into custody.

Perkins is facing several charges, including:

  • Three counts of manufacturing, selling, giving, distributing, or possessing with intent to manufacture, sell, give, or distribute a controlled substance or imitation controlled substance.
  • One count of possession or transportation of firearms, firearms ammunition, stun weapons, explosives, or concealed weapons by convicted felons.
  • Possession of firearms while in possession of certain substances.

Deputies say the investigation remains ongoing and there could be additional charges.
