LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Lynchburg City Schools released a response on Monday regarding a controversial video circulating on social media.
WFXR News has obtained a copy of the video showing someone using a racial slur while apparently singing. That person is said to be a Lynchburg City Schools teacher.
Lynchburg City Schools issued the following statement on Monday, Feb. 22 about the video:
Lynchburg City Schools values community feedback and support. We were made aware of a video that is circulating through social media. Per school board policy GBEZ, all Lynchburg City Schools’ employees shall engage in activities and behaviors which promote the well-being of the school division’s students and which reflect the positive interactions of staff with their colleagues, students, parents, and the community. Lynchburg City Schools does not condone the use of racial slurs or any other offensive language, behaviors and gestures. Professional conduct is expected for those who care for our children. We are reviewing all of the information and addressing it as a personnel matter.
