LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Even though the 2021-2022 school year has wrapped up, Lynchburg City Schools still wants to give students nutritious meals over the next couple of months through the Summer Food Service Program. 

“Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), disability or age, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service,” the district wrote in a statement. 

According to Lynchburg school officials, the free meals will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis at the following sites and times:

  • Boys & Girls Club: 101 Madison Street
    • June 6 to Aug. 5 on Mondays through Fridays
    • Lunch from noon to 12:30 p.m.
    • Snack from 3 to 3:45pm
  • College Hill Community Center: 811 Jackson Street
    • June 6 to Aug. 5 on Mondays through Fridays
    • Lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.      
    • Snack from 3 to 4 p.m.
  • Daniels Hill Community Center: 317 Norwood Street
    • June 6 to Aug. 5 on Mondays through Fridays
    • Lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
    • Snack from 3 to 4 p.m.
  • Diamond Hill Community Center: 1005 17th Street
