UPDATE 11/18 8:28: The Lynchburg Police Department says they located the stolen vehicle of interest in the malicious wounding that took place in the 1500 block of Florida Avenue.
The vehicle was found by LPD in the 900 block of Floyd Street unoccupied.
UPDATE 11/18 1:32 p.m.: The Lynchburg Police Department has made a correction to an earlier update. The car they believe may have been involved in the incident has a license plate of 2TLW69 and is from Massachusetts and not Maryland as previously reported by police.
UPDATE 11/17 11:20 p.m.: The Lynchburg Police Department released a description of the car they believe may have been involved with the malicious wounding.
Police are looking for a 2021 Infiniti QX8, black. According to investigators, a vehicle of the same make and model was reported stolen on November 6, 2022. Police said it had a Maryland license plate: 2TLW69.
UPDATE 11/17 3:31 p.m.: The Lynchburg Police Department says the malicious wounding took place in the 1500 block of Florida Avenue as the victim was walking in the parking lot of the Greenfield Market.
Officers say the previously reported large, dark SUV that sped away from the scene is not confirmed to be involved at this time.

UPDATE 11/17 2:18 p.m.: The Lynchburg Police Department says the malicious wounding that was originally reported at the James Crossing Apartments actually took place at the Greenfield Market.
Police say the shots were fired from Pinehurst Street and struck the victim in the back in the parking lot of the Greenfield Market.
LPD Officers say they are looking for two people in a large dark SUV.
LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Police (LPD) Tweeted that they are on the scene of a malicious wounding at the James Crossing Apartments.
Police say one person has been taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound.
