LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Police Department (LPD) is investigating a malicious wounding incident that occurred on Tuesday, Nov. 29 at the Cardinal Car Wash on Sheffield Drive.
Police say they responded to the car wash for a reported fight in progress involving three men at approximately 1:40 p.m. According to a press release by the Lynchburg Police Department, callers described three males assaulting one male.
Police say they arrived and saw one of the alleged suspects driving away in a black Mercedes. They say they attempted to complete a traffic stop when the vehicle fled the scene. The pursuit ended on the 200 block of Lakeside Drive where 32-year-old Corderro Montez Rucker of Lynchburg was arrested without incident
Police say Rucker is being charged with the following:
- Driving without a license
- Eluding Police
- Assault by mob
- Malicious wounding
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Rucker is being held without bond at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail. LPD says the man assaulted has non-life-threatening injuries.
The press release states, the two alleged suspects also involved in the incident fled the scene in a silver Sedan. Their identities are unknown at this time.
