LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – After several weeks of leaf collection in the Hill City, this week will wrap up the annual event.

Residents living in Ward II can pile their leftover leaves along the curb of their residence, but not in the street, near fire hydrants or next to trees.

Leaf piles should also be clear of rocks and sticks.

During the week of Dec. 20, city crews will come by and clear those leaf piles.

For residents who bag their leaves, they must be placed in blue pre-paid trash bags and placed outside, along the curb, with your trash on your regular collection day any time of the year.

Residents also have the option of taking bagged leaves that are not bagged in the pre-paid blue trash bags directly to the Concord Turnpike Landfill.
