Lane reductions planned along parts of Main Street in Lynchburg on Tuesday, Wednesday

Lynchburg & Central Virginia News

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Lynchburg motorists may run into some traffic congestion on Tuesday and Wednesday while crews reduce the number of lanes along sections of Main Street to accommodate gas line abandonment.

The City of Lynchburg says portions of Main Street — specifically, in the 700 block and the 1000 block — will be reduced to one lane from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 6 and Wednesday, April 7.

According to officials, motorists should expect minor delays, use caution while traveling through the work zones, be alert to changes in traffic patterns, and obey temporary signage amid these lane reductions.

However, emergency vehicles will reportedly have access at all times.
