LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Lynchburg Police are showing kudos to one of their own.

On New Year’s Day, a wanted man was seen driving on Langhorne Road in Lynchburg.

The man, who has not been identified, was wanted for robbery and other charges in Lynchburg and at another jurisdiction.

After several minutes of a vehicle chase downtown, the man left the vehicle and ran away behind houses in a residential area.

Officer J. Williams and his K9 Kairos were close by.

They assisted with condoning off the area, the two officers began to search.

While walking down the street, Kairos alerted his partner that the man was hiding underneath a deck.

The man ended up coming out and surrendered peacefully to police.

No one was hurt.

The man was arrested and taken to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail.
