Human remains found in burned-out vehicle in Appomattox County

APPOMATTOX COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — The Appomattox County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the finding of human remains found in a vehicle that was burned in the Appomattox-Buckingham State Forest.

The investigation began Wednesday, Oct. 21, at approximately 11 a.m. when deputies located the burned-out vehicle near the intersection of Forbes Road and State Park Road.

The remains will be sent to Roanoke for an autopsy.
