Hit-and-run leaves woman injured in Lynchburg Friday

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Police Department is searching for a suspect in a hit-and-run crash that happened on Fort Avenue Friday afternoon.

The department says officers responded to the 5500 block of Fort Avenue shortly before 3 p.m. on Friday, July 23 to investigate a report of two vehicles involved in a hit-and-run.

According to police, one woman was hurt in the crash and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a maroon four-door Chevy Silverado with tinted windows, black rims, and a short truck bed. The truck will likely have damage to its left side behind the doors. It was last seen traveling down Westview Drive.

The hit-and-run is still under investigation, so anyone with any information is encouraged to call Officer Lucy at (434) 455-6047.
