LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Lynchburg City Schools reported that Heritage Elementary School went on lockdown on Oct. 4.

According to the school district, the elementary school was placed on lockdown around 1:45 p.m. after administration was made aware of a safety concern on campus.

Lynchburg Police reported to the scene and investigated the school alongside the admin.

The scene was cleared, and the lockdown was lifted at around 2:30 p.m. All students and staff remained safe.

On Monday, Oct. 2, Heritage High School was also placed on lockdown due to a similar incident that was determined to be unfound by LPD. Classes continued as normal.
