LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Heritage Elementary School in Lynchburg has received a $5,000 donation for school supplies from Burlington Stores who is celebrating the opening of their new Burlington Coat Factory at 475 Simons Run.
Burlington Stores made the donation through its partnership with the national non-profit, AdoptAClassroom.org.
The funds will be spent on school supplies for each teacher’s classroom at Heritage Elementary School.
Principal Sharon Anderson says that the teachers will use the funds for various subjects including reading, math, science and social studies.
Every time Burlington Stores open a new location, the company celebrates by adopting and funding a local elementary school in the new store’s community.
