ALTAVISTA, Va. (WFXR) — God’s Pit Crew will host its first Mobile Blessing Bucket Packing Event in Altavista on Friday to prepare for the upcoming hurricane season.
The event will take place at Moore’s Electrical and Mechanical located at 101 Edgewood Avenue in Altavista from 10 a.m. to noon and from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, July 16.
God’s Pit Crew has a mobile packing unit with a custom-made assembly line to bring supplies and equipment and event sponsors provide the volunteers.
“We are excited about serving and fellowshipping with Moore’s Electrical and Mechanical as they help God’s Pit Crew prepare for the next crisis by assembling Blessing Buckets,” said Julie Burnett, Blessing Bucket Program Director.
The event is sponsored by Moore’s Electrical and Mechanical, so their employees will work alongside God’s Pit Crew volunteers to assemble 1,000 Blessing Buckets over two separate assemblies.
“Everyone can’t go to a disaster location, but with their help with filling these life-sustaining buckets, these volunteers will be making a direct impact on someone who has experienced devastation.”
