CONCORD, Va. (WFXR) — Gleaning for the World says they are gearing up to help the survivors of Hurricane Fiona in the Caribbean by collecting supplies in Lynchburg.

“Our team at Gleaning is always ready to help, but we cannot do it alone,” Gleaning’s president Jeane Smiley-Mason explained. “We’ve been in contact with our Caribbean partners who are requesting supplies to help the victims of this storm. What we need now are the right supplies, and funds, to help fill and ship a container quickly.”

The supply collection will take place in front of Sam’s Club on Wards Road in Lynchburg on Monday, September 26 and go to Wednesday, September 28 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Supplies needed:

  • Hygiene items
  • Baby supplies
  • Cleanup supplies like trash bags and gloves
  • Kitchen and bath paper products

Gleaning for the World says donated goods and monetary donations can also be dropped off at their location at 7539 Stage Road in Concord. Donations can be made online on the Gleaning for the World Website here.
