Five-month lane closure to start Monday on various Lynchburg streets

Lynchburg & Central Virginia News

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Starting Monday, AEP is replacing power poles in the Randolph College area, which means a number of Lynchburg streets will be impacted by lane closures for the next few months.

Between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Monday, March 1 through Sunday, Aug. 1, Lynchburg city officials say portions of Columbia Avenue, Birch Street, Norfolk Avenue, Magnolia Street, and Rivermont Avenue will be reduced to one lane every day, including weekends.

While these temporary lane closures are in place, motorists are asked to expect minor delays, use caution while traveling through work zones, remain alert to altered traffic patterns, and obey temporary signage.

However, emergency vehicles will reportedly have access at all times.
