LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — People in Lynchburg will soon have to wait a little longer for their U.S. Post Office’s first-class mail delivery.
Starting Friday, Oct. 1, the delivery of first-class mail will not take up to five days from when the post office receives it. Lynchburg officials say this change can impact those who are mailing payments to City Hall, especially if there is a deadline or a penalty fee.
Officials say payments can be made online by visiting the Lynchburg website, or in person at the Billings & Collections windows in City Hall at 900 Church Street. The Lynchburg City Hall is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
For more information call the Billings & Collections Division at 434-455-3850.
