LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg City School (LCS) has reported that E. C. Glass High School is currently on lockdown.

According to the Lynchburg Police Department, the school received a call threatening the principal of the high school around 8:30 on Wednesday morning.

As a precaution, students and faculty are sheltering in place inside classrooms. LCS says no one is allowed in or out of the building at this time. Officials tell WFXR that cars are not allowed in or out of the parking lot.

“We have a large Lynchburg Police Department presence. We are going to allow them to do the work they do to keep us safe,” said Ethel Reeves, the LCS Director of Community Relations.

Reeves says she wants to emphasize to parents the number one concern is keeping students and faculty safe.

At this time, there are no reported injuries and no one has been harmed.

Officers say they are investigating the incident and are using all resources to confirm who made the threat. Officials have not released a time when the lockdown will be lifted.

This is a developing story. WFXR News will update this story as details become available.
