Dog found stuck in a creek with a bullet in his cheek, rescued by Lynchburg authorities

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — A pooch is currently in recovery after Lynchburg authorities discovered him trapped in a creek with a bullet in him.

The Lynchburg Police Department says a call came in on Tuesday, Sept. 7 about a dog in distress in the Winchester Street area.

According to police, the dog was stuck in Fishing Creek and unable to get up the embankment. However, Animal Warden Craft managed to rescue the dog from the creek.

The dog was brought to the vet, who discovered a bullet in the canine’s cheek and removed it, officials say.

As of Thursday, Sept. 9, the department says the dog is recovering and expected to be alright.
