UPDATE 10:20 a.m. (5/6/22): Police released the name of the Appomattox County motorcyclist who died after crashing in Campbell County Thursday morning.

Virginia State Police say they responded to the incident at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 5 along Doss Road, just east of White Oak Road, in Concord.

According to authorities, a 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle was traveling east on Doss Road when it ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, ran off the right side of the road again, and stopped in a ditch.

The rider — identified by officials as 22-year-old Christian N. W. Goff of Appomattox — was wearing a helmet, but he died at the scene of the wreck.

Police tell WFXR News this deadly crash is still under investigation.

CONCORD, Va. (WFXR) — One person is dead after state troopers were called out to a report of a motorcycle crash in Concord Thursday morning.

According to Virginia State Police, they were notified about the motorcycle wreck in the 800 block of Doss Road at approximately 7:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 5.

Officials have yet to share the identity of the person who died in the crash.

As of this writing, authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding this deadly incident.
