UPDATE: One person sustains minor burns in Lynchburg fire, cause unknown

UPDATE 8 p.m.: The Battalion Chief with the Lynchburg Fire Department told WFXR News that fire crews were dispatched to the fire around 5:30 p.m. on Friday.

When fire crews arrived, smoke and fire were visible from a business located at 31 Cabell Street, The Cottage Stillroom & Beeswax Candle Factory.

There was one occupant inside, an employee of the business. The woman sustained some minor burns.

Six engines, two medic units, a fire rescue truck, and two ladder companies remain on scene and continue to work the fire.

UPDATE 7:45 p.m.: Crews continue to work a large fire at The Cottage Stillroom & Beeswax Candle Factory at 31 Cabell Street.

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — The Lynchburg Department of Emergency Services is advising motorists that 5th Street going towards Amherst County is closed at Main Street due to fire crews working a large fire.
