AMHERST, Va. (WFXR) — The Amherst County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team made four arrests in the month of May with the help of Lowesville Community Group and other concerned citizens in the area.

On May 2, Special Response Team Deputies executed a search warrant on the 100 block of Samuetta Lane and arrested the following individuals:

Hunter Franklin Ponton

  • Possession w/ intent to sell, etc. Schedule I or II drugs
  • Grand larceny – Auto theft

Michael Joseph Agnor

  • Receive stolen goods-$200 or more
  • Possession of Schedule I or II drugs
  • Grand larceny – Auto theft
  • Supervision Violation. Probation Violation – Felony

Jessica Lee Givens

  • Obstruction of Justice – False name or falsely identify to Law Enforcement
  • Three counts of Supervisor Violation and Probation Violation – Felony
  • Two counts of Supervisor Violation and Probation Violation – Misdemeanor

As their investigation continued, on May 16 deputies surveyed activity on Roses Mill Road, where they allegedly intercepted narcotics leaving a residence. Later that day, deputies executed two search warrants at Carlos Dante Tucker’s residence where they allegedly seized a stolen shotgun and ammunition. Tucker is a four-time convicted felon, and was arrested on the following charges:

  • Sell, give, or distribute a controlled substance classified as Schedule I or II
  • Possession of firearms while in possession of certain substances
  • Possession or transportation of firearms, firearms ammunition, stun weapons, explosives, or concealed weapons by convicted felons
  • Receipt of a stolen firearm
