Charlotte County lifts burn ban

CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office says that the previously-enacted burn ban has been lifted.

County officials say that this is due to rainfall received this past weekend.

Residents in Charlotte County can legally burn outdoors but should still use extreme caution when doing so.

The initial burn ban began on Dec. 2.

Other localities still under burn bans in the area include:

  • Amherst County
  • Carroll County
  • Danville
  • Floyd County
  • Giles County
  • Halifax County
  • Henry County
  • Pittsylvania County
