BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) — Veterans from Central and Southwest Virginia are packing their bags to head to Washington D.C. and be honored for their sacrifices to our country.
The Central and Southwest Virginia Honor Flight is scheduled to happen on October 21 through 23. Organizers say the flight will bring together area veterans from WWII, the Korean War and Vietnam to transport them for free to memorials created in their honor.
Martin Leamy, President and CEO of Central and Southwest Virginia Honor Flight made an appearance on WFXR News at Noon to share the details of the flight and how it started.
