Car crashes into home along Hardy Road, one person transported to hospital

UPDATE 9:05 p.m.: Fire officials with the Bedford Fire Department have told WFXR that one person was inside the home when the crash occurred. He did not suffer any injuries.

According to officials, the impact of the crash damaged the foundation of the home. Crews are working to stabilize the foundation before pulling the car out.

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A car crashed into a home on Hardy Road Monday evening.

Multiple agencies reported to the scene including the Moneta Volunteer Fire Department, Bedford County Fire Department, Hardy Volunteer Fire Department, Bedford County Sheriff’s Office, and Virginia State Police.

Officials say the driver of the vehicle has been transported to the hospital. The severity of the driver’s injuries is unknown at this time.

Fire officials say the home is structurally damaged.
