Campbell County transitions to biannual tax collection schedule starting in 2022

Lynchburg & Central Virginia News

CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) – The Board of Supervisors in Campbell County recently approved a transition to a biannual tax collection process starting next year.

This affects real estate and personal property taxes.

For 2021, taxes will still be due in December on the current billing schedule; however, on the new 2022 schedule, half-year tax bills will be due in both June and December which will evenly divide the annual tax amounts due into smaller increments.

“The Board perceived that paying a larger, one-time tax bill at the end of the year could be an inconvenience to families, especially around the holidays. They wanted to take a measure that would allow residents to pay in two smaller increments, while still keeping revenue collection operations running smoothly.”

Frank Rogers, Campbell County Administrator

For questions about this change, residents may call the Commissioner of the Revenue’s office at (434) 322-9518.
