Police: Campbell County teen dead following Thursday night crash in Lynchburg

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Authorities say a teenager is dead after first responders brought that teenager — along with three other people — the hospital Thursday night following a crash along Old Forest Road in Lynchburg.

According to the Lynchburg Police Department, officers were called to the 3900 block of Old Forest Road shortly before 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 28 for a two-vehicle crash. Within minutes, officers arrived at the scene and began performing lifesaving measures.

Police say members of the Lynchburg Fire Department removed two men and a woman from one of the vehicles and brought them — along with a man from the other vehicle involved in the crash — to Lynchburg General Hospital.

As of Sunday, Oct. 31, authorities say two of those individuals are in stable condition, one is in critical condition, and one is dead.

Police identified the deceased as 19-year-old Autumn Kidd of Campbell County, who was a passenger in one of the vehicles.
