LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) — Boring operations have been scheduled in parts of downtown Lynchburg which will cause potential delays for commuters.
On Friday, Feb. 19 and Monday, Feb. 22, weather-permitting, boring operations will take place just outside of the intersections of Main Street and 12th Street, Church Street and 12th Street, and Rivermont Avenue and Fifth Street.
The cores will determine subsurface conditions in preparation for the installation of new traffic signals.
Those in this area can expect intermittent closures of parking lanes as well as single travel lane shifts in order to accommodate crews who will be working in these areas.
As the work is completed in each section, parking and travel lanes will re-open.
Access to driveways, parking lots and parking decks will be maintained at all times.
Completion of the Main Street Renewal Project is scheduled for this summer.
