NELSON COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Blues, brews, and food all for a good cause! The Central Virginia Blues Society (CVBS) and the Blue Mountain Barrel House are hosting a fundraiser to help out the Nelson County Food Pantry.

The event will take place Sunday Oct. 9 at Blue Mountain Breweries southern facility, the Blue Mountain Barrel House from noon to 5 p.m. The CVBS says the suggested donation for the event is $5 and Blue Mountain Barrel House will be donating $1 from every beer sold towards the cause. Wine and cider will also be available for non-beer drinkers. Participants can also bring a can of food to trade for a beer ticket.

CVBS says bands will be from Nelson County as well as the counties surrounding it, non-member musicians are also welcome to come and join the jam.

“This will be a major event for Nelson County, and we hope to raise enough to help the pantry and Nelson County families in need, get through the coldest months of the year,” said CVBS in a statement covering the event.
