‘Bee-u-tiful Lynchburg’ event planned for Saturday at Community Market

LYNCHBURG, Va. (WFXR) – Lynchburg Parks and Recreation is hosting a Bee City USA event at the Community Market called, Bee-u-tiful Lynchburg between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, April 24.

The event will feature a wide array of organizations concerned about pollinators, located in the small parking lot, in addition to regular farmers and market vendors.

In July 2019, Lynchburg became a certified Bee City USA. This event celebrates that achievement which coincides with the 51st anniversary of Earth Day.

Community members can support local farmers by picking up weekly groceries and enjoy pollinator-friendly vendors with fun, safe activities for the whole family.

Oshun Organics is creating seed bomb giveaways.

Hungry Hill Farms will feature an observation hive and honey tastings.

Blue Ridge Conservation will feature a bee house display.

Lynchburg Nature Zone, Lynchburg Water Resources, Central Virginia Master Naturalists, and Amazement Square will be offering fun activities for families.

Lexie & Lee will be selling homeware and jewelry.
