BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) — The Bedford Police Department says an 85-year-old man has passed away in a crash that occurred in the Blue Ridge Avenue area on March 24.
Around 5:20 a.m., officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash in the 900 block of Blue Ridge Avenue area. Upon arrival, emergency responders found Ronnie Lantz, 85, of Montvale dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed that Lantz was traveling east on Blue Ridge Avenue and while making a left turn onto Ole Turnpike Drive was hit by a vehicle traveling west.
It is unknown if the driver of the second vehicle was injured at this time, and the crash remains under investigation.
