Bedford man taken into custody for second-degree murder

BEDFORD, Va. (WFXR) — Authorities say a 21-year-old from Bedford was taken into custody Friday in connection with the death of an 18-year-old from Bedford County.

According to the Bedford Police Department, officers responded to a call about an unresponsive male a Bedford home off Pinecrest Avenue at approximately 7 a.m. on Wednesday, July 21.

When police entered the home, they found 18-year-old Braeden Michael Bailey dead. Investigators determined the cause of death to be trauma to the head.

Investigators obtained warrants for 21-year-old Tyler Lee Booth on Friday, July 23 for second-degree murder. Booth was then taken into custody without incident and is being held at the Blue Ridge Regional Jail while awaiting trial.
