Bedford County Schools cancels eight Wednesday buses due to driver shortage

BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — For the sixth school day in a row, Bedford County Public Schools says several buses will not be running on Wednesday because of an ongoing staff shortage as drivers deal with illness.

According to school officials, the following buses will not operate in Bedford County on Wednesday, Jan. 12:

  • Bus 86: Morning and afternoon runs for Goodview Elementary School, Staunton River Middle School, and Staunton River High School
  • Bus 93: Morning and afternoon runs for Staunton River Middle School and Staunton River High School
  • Bus 110: Morning and afternoon runs for Bedford Primary School, Bedford Elementary School, Liberty Middle School, and Liberty High School
  • Bus 132: Morning and afternoon runs for Goodview Elementary School
  • Bus 173: Morning and afternoon runs for Bedford Primary School and Bedford Elementary School
  • Bus 199: Afternoon runs for Bedford Primary School, Bedford Elementary School, Liberty Middle School, and Liberty High School
  • Bus 202: Morning and afternoon runs for Goodview Elementary School, Staunton River Middle School, and Staunton River High School
  • Bus 215: Morning and afternoon runs for Staunton River Middle School and Staunton River High School

The district still expects bus 86 and bus 173 will continue to be canceled for the rest of the week.
