BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Because of staffing issues, the Bedford County Animal Shelter will reportedly be closing to the general public until further notice, according to the Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter, Inc.

However, the nonprofit organization says that the Bedford County Animal Shelter will still be open for appointments to adopt animals or pick up strays. If you would like to set up an appointment with the shelter, either call 540-586-7690 or send an email to fobcasfriends@gmail.com.

“We understand that this may be frustrating to some, please be patient with the shelter staff as they juggle caring for dozens of animals daily,” the Friends of Bedford County Animal Shelter, Inc. wrote on Facebook on Tuesday, Sept. 28.
