Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department responds to fire Friday, building suffered minor damage

APPOMATTOX, Va. (WFXR) — The Appomattox Volunteer Fire Department took care of a fire early Friday morning in the Town of Appomattox.

Crews were dispatched just after 5:30 a.m. Friday morning for a possible transformer on fire. When they arrived on the scene, they found the fire involved electrical equipment in the center of the structure.

The fire was contained to the electrical equipment and the building suffered some minor damage.
