BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — A woman is injured and another is dead after a vehicle crash occurred on Route 460 in Bedford County on March 22nd.
Virginia State Police say the crash occurred around 12:40 p.m. on Route 460 west of Heightview Drive when a yet-to-be-identified 65-year-old woman was driving a 2015 Jeep Latitude when it ran off the road and hit a tree.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and found 64-year-old Vicki Bailey Crews of Alta Vista in the passenger seat of the vehicle. Crews was transported to the Lynchburg General Hospital where she later passed away. The driver was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but officers have determined that Crews was wearing her seatbelt.
