BEDFORD COUNTY, Va. (WFXR) — Throughout the month of December, the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office investigated numerous reports of larcenies from unlocked vehicles in the Forest area. Stolen items included firearms, vehicles, credit cards, and cash.
On Thursday, Dec. 23, the sheriff’s office says deputies conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle leaving an apartment complex around Forest. During the traffic stop, authorities observed some items in open view that matched the descriptions of various stolen items.
Not only did deputies find some items that were stolen early Thursday morning, but authorities also recovered two stolen firearms and other items that were taken the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 22.
According to officials, Jamari Stewart and Jermaine Hawkins were each charged with one count of grand larceny of a firearm and two counts of petit larceny. In addition, a minor will be facing charges in connection with the larcenies.
Additional charges may be filed in connection with this ongoing investigation, authorities say.
